Yeah, I watched it in the background while I did other things, and it was... fine? Fine. I can’t honestly recommend it as either being good or fun bad, but it had decent effects and the woman lead was very good.

Looks terrible! Hell yeah, I’ll watch it.

Previously it was tied to another feature that people do like - starting the next episode automatically, I think? - now you can turn it off as its own thing.

The one Fatal Frame game I tried to play (...poorly) scared the crap out of me. Even reading spoilers after I gave it up was scary. I actually liked his original Silent Hill movie quite a bit (though it wasn’t exactly great art), but I think I will be giving this one a miss.

That’s the worst part of streaming. Sure you usually get less commercial time overall, but at least on network tv they’re not repeating only the one and for days on end.

I didn’t get any commercials at all on the one movie I watched using my Chromecast. It’s possible they’re just short of commercials right now, but I’ve run into services before where commercials would get skipped on that. (If it’s that I’m sure they’ll eventually fix it, like Hulu did.)

I mean, it makes sense, but my dreams skew so heavily to pure imagery that picturing having words involved kind of hit my brain like a punch. Even when I dream people talking to each other I only ever know what’s being conveyed, not actual audible words.

Huh. They have a surprisingly decent catalog for one of these free streaming services? Once I dug beneath the mounds of cheap horror and knock offs of better known kids movies, I ran into things like Qi reruns, Star Trek IV, and the original Suspira. I’m currently watching a documentary movie about Glastonbury, and

Wow. I’ve literally never considered the dreams of someone who thinks in words and that description is actually kind of freaking me out.

To think that everyone thinks in words is silly on the face of it, though I understand why people might not have spent much time dwelling on the topic. Do you think non-verbal people don’t have thoughts? People deaf from birth who were never taught proper sign language? (I’d imagine that at least some deaf who do know

Ahah! I thought that something like that might be the case after Pluto TV sent me an email today trumpeting that they had it.

People diss CVS a lot, but honestly they have one of the best rewards programs in the business. They send me quarterly and yearly totals of my savings, and it’s a rare year that it’s not several several hundred dollars. I regularly walk out the door with $60 of goods for less than $30.

If I’m understanding correctly, if people were getting 10" receipts, that would be 20 cents per inch? I may be misinterpreting.

We’ve seen a lot of Doctor-Doctor meetups at this point, and they all seem to start off with them uncomfortable with and/or annoyed at each other. It’s in character and also makes for great amusement for us, but in universe, it’s also got to be weird and difficult to meet a yourself so similar but also so different.

Also, Time Lords have an (instinctive?) ability to see that doing something would damage the timeline. The ones from Ye Golden Olden Gallifrey Days that are still kicking around at the end of time or what have you and will be returning home at some point, should be actively and passively avoiding running into Our

Oh, I like this theory.

I have to admit that having her show up for this in one of those other two ways (or both) is highly plausible.

I don’t really see the Ruth-Is-River theory working out, honestly, and not just because it would make me throw my remote at the tv (I can’t stand her). River’s parents were highly social and sent by the Angels to the past in NYC to die - why would they end up as hermits in a lighthouse in the UK again? And this theory

Oh, I had completely forgotten about them! Yes.

I’m kind of leaning towards a crossover with an alternate reality at this point. Between an unfamiliar early regeneration (but not so early that she hasn’t already stolen the TARDIS and had the chameleon circuit get stuck), and a Master that we couldn’t cleanly slot into his known timeline, something shenanigan-y
