As much as I’d like a women president just so that society could start getting over seeing a women in charge as a threat, I appreciate that we should elect the best option, not the only option.

This is the attitude of “if women would just put out enough, Jared Fogle/Josh Duggar/every other mancreep in the world would be SATISFIED and not molest anybody.”

To me, “we think she will keep him grounded” reads as: this is her problem now/she is entirely responsible for handling his actions, and if he keeps doing it, then it must be because she isn’t a good enough girlfriend. Obviously it didn’t work with Mills, but there are probably some people who would buy this line.

When I read this, I thought “why would the company cover for Fogle? He’s just their mascot, not the CEO!” But then I realized they were covering their own ass and trying to prevent bad publicity. Oops!

I wish there was a way to prosecute any Subway executives who might have known about this.
