If Congress wants them to trash the whole team and fire Lutz too, then maybe GM would be better off without the loans... Last thing we need is GM to be run by non-car people again...

@Number_Six: Don't forget the manual tranny!

"They tested it... And cheese whiz!"

@Rock517: I'm a major Pontiac fan, so I would love to say I agree that it's a core brand. Maybe it was some years back, but unfortunately not anymore. Excitement division? Nope. The Vibe is a solid family car, and the G6 just gets the job done, but aside from the G8 and the Solstice GXP there is nothing exciting

@roaduscarnivorous: The Volt is going to start off as a niche vehicle. With any luck, the General can sell enough to start lowering the costs on the batteries and start expanding the E-Flex drivetrain to other vehicles. In the meantime, a variation of the same engine that will charge the Volt will power the Chevy

@six: Just watch C-Span. Oh wait, nobody watches C-Span...

The adrenalin I get from beating the other guys to soccer practice is second only to the shock I get from actually being able to pick up women in a minivan.

GM Dustbuster vans — they made the minivan cool! And then made us all wonder what exactly we were thinking...

Our poor 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT. The 3800 Series II was like my crack — but alas, my brother needed a car stat, and so my baby was taken from me. We were supposed to grow old together :'(

Back in my day we had our cake and ate it too — ah the good old days of a federal surplus, decent economy, and $1.19 gas...

Umm. GM? Are you awake? I love me some General Motors but if my beloved great domestics mate with the crap Chrysler is throwing out there these days I just might cry.

All I'm saying is this picture is a prime example of why we have not got to allow the government to get in our way and stop our God given right to shoot mooses from a helicopter.

I'm all for sharing platforms across the brands of GM, but the Aveo is not a Pontiac. The G3 may sell just as well as the Aveo, but it doesn't bode well for a Pontiac brand that is trying to rebuild itself with more performance inclined cars like the G8 and the Solstice GXP. Looks like Pontiac is having an identity

I must be alone in enjoying the design of the Volt...

GM needs to be careful to avoid using the same strategies from the 90's — have each brand make the exact same car with different badging. They have done much better with this lately, but if Chevy and Pontiac both share the same Aveo/G3 and Cobalt/G5-type models, it would not bode well for Pontiac's "Performance

Well GM can't really have their hybrid go to war out West — unless they extend that 40 mile range to a few hundred... I think they are tied to the D, if you get my drift.

Pull up next to a cop and see if he will race him.

Wait, people still manufacture/purchase PT Cruisers?
