In truth, this won’t slow SpaceX that much, since it’s supposed to be resolved by November under the expedited schedule. For the next few months, SpaceX will still be focused on things that are only tangentially related to HLS and thus not stopped by the injunction, such as getting Starship to orbit, or testing

Wait. Baristas aren’t paid a full wage?

Buses that run the same routes in dedicated lanes? We’ve had that tech for over a century, it’s called a trolley.

Self driving cars will be a thing, but if it ends up not being a thing it won’t be because the manufacturing complexity. It will be the obvious thing that’s always been the problem: that making the software capable of driving a car is difficult and requires addressing a multitude of edge and corner cases.

crashes into stopped emergency vehicles with flashing lights and sometimes even “flares, an illuminated arrow board, and road cones” are simply not the sorts of things human drivers wouldn’t notice”

Who approaches an accident scene on cruise control or any auto control feature?? If the driver is paying attention they usually slow down and move away from the lanes being used before they reach the scene.

I think this is a classic intersection of Engineering and Marketing.

Sounds like a perfect example of engineering process controls if you ask me. Some process control was probably put in place to make sure symbols weren’t forgotten, so the easiest thing to do is include all the symbols on all the models.

It can also be used for when they install the double-rollover sensor. Gotta think ahead.

As a guy who works in a design and manufacturing facility (not cars), here’s my take:

How ironic that these people are afraid of becoming “zombies” yet are perfectly happy being actual brain-dead morons without the ability to think for themselves.

$5 says legal decided that mandating driver vaccinations might suggest that drivers are employees, rather than contractors, and they don’t want that.

Good for Biden to leave Tesla uninvited.

“We are going to try to convince automakers to invest more heavily in electric vehicles.”

The almond trees were particularly irritating...because the last drought increased prices, farmers tried cashing in on the money rush planting -more- almonds...

Ah yes. The classic Cascading Failure. A thing that goes catastrophically wrong, causally linked to an endless chain of other Things That Go Catastrophically Wrong that all set off Even More Things That Go Catastrophically Wrong. Like a circular row of dominos, except each domino is an open oil drum filled with

I know it’s intentional hyperbole but

Welcome to Jalopnik.

Good job once again Raph. Writing an article with zero research and then updating it with the correction hardly 10 minutes later.

I think the government did this all wrong. Instead of offering free vaccination and offering incentives to get vaccinated, they should have charged $100 a pop for the shot. People would be clamoring to get vaccinated.
