Might be easy to replace, but at the cost of additional regulator/controller/wiring/cooling plumbing per pack.

This. The only reason I can imagine why Ford is going with modular is because they are outsourcing their battery supply. They would definitely need this modularity in case they ever need to change their source to a different supplier.
While it’s possible to leech off power from the main pack for low voltage accessories, it’s still more efficient to run off a separate pack as opposed to having to go through the main battery controller. Besides, I don’t see any reason why it doesn’t have to be a lithium ion pack instead of lead acid.
Cheaper for who? If it failed early or degrading faster than it should or any manufacturing issues, that should be covered under warranty. Either way, it would still involve me taking the car to Ford and getting it repaired. At that point, it doesn't matter if it's modular or not.
Is having a modular battery a good thing? I mean let’s think about this: when was the last time you have mixed used battery with new battery in a device?

Yup. I did it last month. Even if it's been only a year, a couple passes through Harris Ranch on the 5 will still make it stink.
You know who also is Jewish? Jesus!
Sure that sounds like an awkward/boring office party, unless it’s a Modern Warfare Party!
While we typically think of big pharma as corrupt, it would not be in their best interest to lose their potential customers to death. It would be in their best interest to be able to develop the vaccine first and get it right as a big PR boost.
