In the first serial of the second season ("Planet of Giants") the TARDIS malfunctions and shrinks itself, the Doctor, and his companions down to the size of insects. So I guess it's "in canon" (if you can apply that term to the big, sloppy, sprawling world of Doctor Who) that the TARDIS can shrink and grow.
"Sucker Punch" is a series of pretty awesome music videos joined together with imagery and a plot that is baffling and upsetting when it's not being ugly and misogynistic.

Agreed. One of the things I loved about "In the Blood" is that it completely inverts the usual damsel in distress narrative. (Spoilers) Her fiance serves no other purpose than to get kidnapped and motivate the plot.
