Here’s an interlinear analysis of the press release. I write it not to make light of the people let go or to criticize EA, but to understand my initial reactions to reading it. Comments in bold parenthesis:

I’m blocking deadspin from my Google feed after this story.

So what you’re saying is he recognizes the business aspect he has and is doing what he needs to maintain and maximize profit for him and his business partners. ... idk, sounds like someone maturing to me.

There’s TONS of dark humor and pop culture references in the game. Just need to find them out. There’s a house dedicated to The Final Pam in the game. That’s the most recent one I found.

Maybe they should? I mean, you dangle that question out there like it’s a killshot but maybe it’s a conversation worth having especially in regards to the difference between digital and hard products.

I don’t know, I have run into TONS of fun, interesting player drama in this game. My clan dropped a nuke and were raiding a nuke zone with 3 full groups of our people, and ANOTHER clan came in with 3 full groups and attacked us while we were trying to kill monsters and farm materials and stuff. They did this because

That’s not a Cacodemon; it’s a Pain Elemental.

Wow this reply was put together better than the article.

Seems like as good a place as any to ask, but does anyone know of a gaming news site that keeps opinion to a minimum outside of reviews? That just reports factually and that’s it? I’ve been reading Kotaku for years but I don’t particularly enjoy seeing strong opinions on things this small. I just personally prefer to

speak for yourself. This is a pro controller house, and itll go well with my Splatoon and Xenoblade Pro Controllers. Gamecube controller nerds can bring their own for smash.

Except they’re still being updated and played by thousands (hundreds of thousands in the case of DotA2 and CS:GO) of players. “Ancient” suggests that they are no longer relevant but the opposite is true. Artifact will very likely be a high-quality game with just as much longevity as Valve’s other multiplayer games.

It’s dangerous for IGDA to say yes or no to any proposal, because IGDA represents developers across the world, across studios, and across professions. Despite the best efforts of people in the comment sections here, the experiences we see in the industry vary wildly between professions, studios, and countries.

I see no record of you correcting yourself nor even apologizing...

dumbass

You have a very small minded concept of what Episodic would mean for this game, so let me explain it to you this way:
If the first game of the series takes place solely in Midgar, and the place is the size of GTA4, are you still going to complain?

Yes, every Hearthstone player has dropped hundreds of dollars and doesn’t know Wild exists. Spot on.

Gabe Newell owns more than half the company. Contrary to reports of the “flat” organisational structure, an invisible hierarchy is actually in place, with those who own significant stakes having a bigger say.

8 mana 3/3 destroy a minion is just a clunky 3 mana 3/3 with an Assassinate baked into it though. It’s a very very weak body for that late in the game and only removes one minion (only one minion being a big and important point). And it still relies on having both cards in hand and actually either getting to turn 8

I wrote some unit tests today. I did my part :V

Then can you explain me please, how am I having a blast with it even though I hate TF2? Yeah, probably because things are rarely as simple as “X is a lesser version of Y”.
