Criminal handles some really interesting crime stories beyond the usual murder fare I’ve seen most other true crime podcasts cover. Example: I just listened to an episode about a rare book thief who can’t be stopped, and before that was an episode involving southern murder ballads.

I enjoy the Criminal podcast a lot. Revisionist History is also excellent.

Yeah, I’ve always found Cinemasins to be shallow and nitpicky and often just inaccurate. Honest Trailers is funner and has better analysis.

yup. There have been many times they counted a sin because they wanted a high tally, nevermind it was something that made complete sense if you paid even a little bit of attention to everything in the movie. or even 90% of it.

I think it has less to do with defending Skull Island and more to do with recognizing CinemaSins as the garbage it is, failing to hit any kind of mark as criticism or comedy while purporting itself to be both.

I loved K:SI, and Vogt-Roberts is/was dead-on in his addressing of CinemaSins idiocy. There’s constructive criticism, there’s goofy ribbing and then there’s just mean-spirited, hollow needling that says nothing and benefits no one, and CinemaSins fits definitively in that last category.

I usually dislike cringe comedy but I loved Fleabag and Crashing. She is so talented and I hope she gets way more gigs. Also, Susan Wokoma pops up in Crashing and she makes all the good Brit shows (Chewing Gum, Crazyhead, etc.) even better.
