One thing that continually bugs is the way press will ask Ava duvernay or Ryan Coogler or other black and female directors about diversity in hiring and casting. Why are you asking the people who are doing the work? Why not ask Wes Anderson, sofia coppola, the cohen brothers, and so many others about why they can’t

How has it come to me wishing JEB! was our president?!? He would only be the normal amount of embarrassing GOP/Bush.

The Rita Ora of Trumps.

Tiffany?

And that makes it any less offensive? K.

If Netflix wants to be allowed to show at Cannes, all they have to do is release those films in a limited release.

Right? I read the first part of the article and figured a Netflix film could have a one time showing in a French theater and then be eligible but was so shocked when I read this. That’s kind of insane. I’m going to guess that French film makers are losing more money due to piracy than they gain by trying to force

Seriously fuck all of those people who pretended that Hillary was worse than Donald. Not only was she competent, she would have been a great president. The people who voted for this orange buffoon all deserve to suffer the consequences of their vote.

I appreciate your outlook/attitude and honesty. It sounds like you are really trying to have a good life and work through your past. However, as a damaged and sad woman, may I strongly suggest that you delete this account. If I ever found out that my (non-existent) partner did not find me as physically attrative as

I’m 44, perpetually single and cool with it. Two of my friends from college have gotten married this year to guys they started seeing at 41 or 42. I also have a relative who didn’t find the love of her life until 62.

If you’re content, I wouldn’t worry about it. Having “the one” is kind of overrated in our society. And you still do have time if you want one.

Yeah. I look at the marriages around me and sometimes I think, “I’m good.”

I don’t have a success story, but I’d like to follow this thread. I’m in my late 30s and I’ve had more than one friend tell me that if I want to find someone, I should do the “scorched earth” thing and commit to dating a new person every week until I find someone I want to be with. As an introvert with anxiety issues,

Limitless was one of the rare examples of a TV spinoff that was better than the original property from which it was spun. Hopefully somebody gives Jake McDorman a new series soon — his comedy chops were on point.

Other moral of this story: don’t give your show a title ending in -less. Wrle have had 3 in the last 2 years (Limitless, Timeless, Powerless) and they all bit the dust after one season.

I don’t imagine engaging in a debate with you about why you’re wrong would be remotely fruitful, so I’ll just note instead that,

Please don’t buy into the romanticization of the Romanovs. They were a brutal murdering crime family of half wits, who did nothing for their population.

I watched the series with my partner and our takeaway was that it wasn’t gratuitous or glamorizing. The suicide and rape scenes are HARD to watch because they’re blunt, scary and traumatic. There’s no glamour in that, imo.

I remember vaguely when I was a kid there was a brief panic that the Leonardo DiCaprio version of Romeo and Juliet would lead to a rush of teen romance suicides.

I am torn about this series. Personally, I thought it was very well done and to me what really stood out was the impact that Hannah’s suicide had on those she left behind. I didn’t see it as some revenge fantasy, I saw it as a girl who had been hurt explaining why she did what she did and seeing the reactions of those
