It sure would be nice to use my console as a legitimate PC so I can play all these advanced minecraftian games.

@Archaotic: The people hacking the console that this article is mentioning hate piracy too. They're hoping to keep the game protection in, their main objective is to run Linux on the device again, that's always been homebrew's real goal, Piracy is just a filthy side-effect.
They DID Stop the PS3 hacks with Linux Support and will stop it again by putting it back in.
