Callie Rivers, daughter of Clippers coach Doc and fiancée of Seth Curry, explained how her house was burnt down when she was a kid. “This happened because my dad’s black and my mom’s white,” she said. “We know who did it, and nothing ever happened to the people that did it.”

And Georgia, I know. There will always be battles to fight, and there will continue to be setbacks - some of them huge. But attempting to prevent society from growing and changing, as conservatism does, is always going to be a losing fight, because human society has never stopped growing and changing since the day it

Even if you’re currently texting back-and-forth with the person who is calling?

You’d think that they would have programmed that into their system; if the letters/numbers are close (like 5 out of 6) just assume there was an error (either the car owner or their own OCR) and let it slide.

Anytime I have just sent more then three texts in a row to a person (with them responding in kind) and am about to send more I just call them.

I like that in the very first sonnet - literally, Sonnet I - Shakespeare manages to drop a not-an-actual N-bomb:

Your first comment in over a year and it’s to complain about semantics? I’m genuinely impressed. "Aged" would be more appropriate?

For me it's just familiarity - five years ago when they did these kinds of things it was entertaining as hell. But now, yeah, it's irritating.

Yes and no. They have consolidated their hold over the minds of the aging and dying, and have gotten a handle on a small but very vocal component of the youth, but all of their "victories" have only come in the form of holding back progress - not reversing it. All they are doing now is preaching to the choir - and

If the answer to this headline’s question is anything other than “a beeramid” I am going to cry journalistic malpractice.

What are the odds that Chumpf mistakes J.D. Martinez for one of the White House staff and demands a Diet Coke?

The ugliness of his soul shines right on through.

Other than circumstances where he can blatantly cheat (i.e. a skins game of golf) I wasn’t aware that the Cheeto-in-Chief was much of a gambler. If you want a gambling addict, you gotta look in the direction of the attempted rapist on the Supreme Court. It’s kind of a two-for-one deal because he’s also addicted to

Did they show a replay of that? I remember it happening, but I don’t remember the broadcast spending much (if any) time talking about it.

As a Raiders fan, all I can say is...

Aw, I think it’s sweet that people want him to feel special on his birthday. God knows there are plenty of defensive backs out there that Nathan Peterman made feel special, almost like it was their birthday.

A cursory Google search doesn't turn up any results about what percentage of overtime games go to 2OT, 3OT, etc. I'm curious about what those percentages might be.

That’s interesting; I had the exact opposite experience when I saw them at the Wiltern a number of years back (two years after their debut album, I think?). There were all kinds of issues with the equipment and the sound and stuff, and they handled things with impressive professionalism.

Now playing

I want songs like “Saturday Night’s All Right For Bloodsuckin’” and “No Garlic At This Rave” and “Partyin’ All Night Because The Sun’ll Literally Kill Us,” etc etc. This “Walcott” is insufficient. Bunch of beat-ass vampires having a clambake in Wellfleet.

I'm curious as to whether investigators could establish whether or not the phones were in the same vicinity when the texts were sent. Obviously they can see if the texts were routed through the same cell tower, but if wonder if they can get more granular than that and figure out if the phones were in the same room
