They actually won’t cede the preseason, because it is 2 extra home games they force on season ticket holders and more games to sell to TV (albeit the TV not as valuable but, still there). Without filling in more regular season games they are very unlikely to surrender any preseason games

Baseball going to do a trial run of smaller stadiums with the Rays new stadium getting built in Tampa. If the Rays are viable with a 30ish thousand seat stadium then they’ll know they can expand.

Baseball doesn’t translate well to national tv, it never has and I don’t think it ever will. Basketball is all about the star players, ppl root for players over teams and no one cares which team it is the good player(s) play for. Nothing grips a city quite like a pennant push but that just does not translate outside…
