It’s going to be 10 years from the first public announcement of the $35k Tesla (on the Dan Rather show) to when the $35k Tesla actually starts deliveries in (currently expected in June 2019, according to Elon Musk)

The reason they are two years out is that it takes 5 years from start to finish, and by the time they reckon they know what they are goi g to build, they’y are already two or three years through.
