Must be a regional thing. There are 4 ioniq 5’s on the lot at my local dealer here in Alabama. No idea what trim level or options they are.

10/10 can confirm. My Rav4 Hybrid lease is up in 3 weeks, won’t be getting another Toyota because they have no viable EV options...

Lost my pops last December before last and he had bought a Harley some 10 years ago. He wanted me to have it even though I’m not:

I’d have to imagine a bike is harder to repo.  It is far more likely to be hidden away in a garage.  Especially someone’s Harley that they probably value more than most people in their lives.

I distinctly remember a time in my life when oil changes were put off as long as possible just because I couldn’t afford it. We have a car-centric society and our public transportation system sucks in much of the country so you need a car to get around but even the cheapest beater needs maintenance and as you said,

Funny how it’s just fine until it’s literally in their backyard.

That’s exactly it. They got too comfortable and took their ideal situation for granted. By doing so, the NIMBYs took notice, and once that happens? Party’s over.

If these guys took care off the environment they lived in, then this probably wouldn’t have happened.

Did you buy a large vehicle and make a public park your home? Will you help take care of said park? Come at me, but make it make sense

“He made his way down from Washington for the warmer weather of Southern California.”

I think I’ll continue my policy of doing my best to not hit any people, animals or things while driving.

The lease is up on my wife’s CR-V later this year. The Hybrid Cross seems like it might be a good option to replace it, provided it’s available without markups.

The non-hybrids in my area seem to have ridiculous markups. Never seen anything less than 30k.

I mean, we were headed that way before these rules.

It won’t reduce the rate of drunk driving, but it’ll definitely increase the revenue generated by drunk driving arrests.

A federal analysis of traffic deaths in 2020 showed among drivers that were involved in fatal crashes, 84 percent had a blood alcohol level of .08 or higher

There’s a large temptation to reduce the legal limit to .05 “because it’s what they do in Europe and they have fewer drunk-driving crashes.” As the article notes, though, we need two things for this to happen: better public transit, and denser, more walkable cities.

At least they labeled the contents for easy avoidance.

The irony is that the EV being used to evac likely has more charge (if you’re evac’ing from home), than an ICE vehicle has fuel. My cars are constantly hovering around 1/4 tank. EVs are generally plugged in at home. They’ll be just fine.

Lol... Yeah, there have definitely never been hundreds of ICE vehicles left stranded on highways after running out of gas during evacuations.
