As someone who has been hit by cars three times, obeying the rules of the road doesn’t always work . When a driver is not paying attention while talking on a cell phone, driving with a windshield covered with ice/snow or temporarily blinded by the setting sun, shit can happen. These systems are intended to keep

The system probably has a limited effective detection range. The distance covered in the time it takes the system to figure out it’s about to hit something, warn the driver than automatically brake is that distance. Beyond that distance, it may risk too many false positives.

I have no problem with the rich blowing their money. Then there is a chance the peasants like us can get a job building/maintaining their overpriced toys. Look at the 200 jobs created at Rolls-Royce. It’s when they go all Scrooge McDuck and sit on that money, no one gets anything.

Yes it was. Although when I was there, the the truck plant was still making “Heritage” F150s, aka the previous generation.  I think word was getting around that the truck plant was doomed.

I got to visit the Windstar/Freestar factory when they changed the model name. Literally, no security. Anyone could walk right onto the building and onto the assembly line (I did because I was a lost visitor looking for a front desk). No closed gates or security in the finished vehicle parking area. Anyone could walk

Here is how I describe moving to Tulsa;

When I first saw Eyesight on a Subaru, I knew it was worth giving up a manual for. For me, adaptive cruise is worth not rowing my own. Sorry, I’m part of the problem... (cuts corner off Jalop card).

I should also point out that around Tulsa Oklahoma, most of the Outback owners I know are bible thumping conservative gun nuts. They aren’t just for liberal coastal elites now. Seriously, how many Outbacks have you seen with Infowars.com and pro-gun stickers on them?  I think they are all in Oklahoma.

I also drive an Outback. By definition, anything I do is uncool (per the cool kids in high school). Therefor my “uncool” overpowers your “cool”. Outbacks will never be cool again because they been tainted by my ownership.

DUI checkpoints can be considered a violation of the 4th amendment. Which is why in my area they are announced a couple of days in advance. I see no issues reminding people where the DUI checkpoint is.

Yes they can. Any double DIN unit will fit with the correct trim and wiring adapter kit. Mine hasn’t pissed me off enough to spend roughly $1k to replace it.

At least she has a working infotainment. I have a 2017 Outback and also and find that system lacking in almost every conceivable way. Now, the 2018 system, those things have a tendency to brick themselves.  Lots of forum threads about them and the 6+ week wait for a replacement.

I think felony is overkill for removing the sticker and returning it to service. Misdemeanor is good enough with the authority to impound if caught. Leave a provision to elevate it to a felony if the vehicle/driver is found at fault of any accident.

And I thought I was hot shit for hitting 35 drafting a cement mixer...

45 with no helmet, downhill on a bike with a bent rear axle that broke suddenly a few hundred miles later.  Damn was I dumb!  Have since been in the low 40's with a helmet on a bike not trying to kill me.

But those mattresses wouldn’t have fit in the bed of the average pickup... Clearly the roof of his car was the best option...

There is a more cost effective method than a hammer. A foot accompanied with about five minutes of profanities.

I’m surprised we didn’t get a count on how many marriage proposals and random dick pics they received. I may be responsible for a few dozen proposals to Stef ;-)
