I do understand Singapore’s reasoning. However, wouldn’t the CO2 emissions depend on the fuel used to produce the electricity? It it’s coal, it would be bad. If it’s natural gas, a little better. But, if it’s solar, wind or nuclear, then the electrical producer’s emissions would be minimal, if not quite zero.

It’s pretty much a dead heat between Wheel of Time and Ice and Fire.

Is there no way they could actually design a car as beautiful on the outside as the beauty of its engineering.

I’m surprised that I like Killjoys better than Dark Matter. I haven’t watched the latest DM episode yet, but I’m finding it rather slow and, to some extent, non-sensical. There are some aspects of it which don’t really add up. They may all be resolved at the end of the season, but I’m not sure I have the patience.

I posted this to on Facebook several days ago. I think it’s worth repeating now:

Ignorance is common. Willful ignorance is the worst. I have a friend who was a third grade teacher. When she was teaching History, one set of parents told her and the principal that they did not want their child to be taught World History. The only important history was American.

Right on Alissa. You’ve hit almost every objection perfectly.

Why are they so adamant about a ragtop? It would be perfect because it’s just a little sexier than the MX-5.

Why do I think that mere “facts” will not persuade the antivaxers.

Childhood’s End was one of literature’s breakthrough novels. I wish it had gained more literary recognition by now, but the ghetto persists.

Could be Jesus.

Why is it that so many makers fail to bring their neatest cars here? And, I don't think it's environmental laws. If I'm not mistaken, European laws are as restrictive as ours.

Major suckage. It's way past time for Star Trek to return to TV. Maybe one of the online services could revive it.

Top Gear is far and away the most entertaining car show ever. And, there can be no question of how important Clarkson was.

I wish it were not so because he is a character. Unfortunately he is also a screaming asshole. No matter what his marital, parental or "whatever-al" issues, he has no right to take it out on any individual or ethnic group. If this were the first and only such incident, e might be worth keeping. But it's not. We will

In Naval parlance, it's called Force Majeure.

Keep in mind that when Asimov was writing the Foundation series in 1942, we were at the tail end of the European empires. Even after World War II, the French, the British and the Belgians fought to keep their empires into the 60's. So the feudal/imperial political model still seemed to be a viable political model. Not

Some of the commenters here seem to think there's something wrong with a publicity stunt. If it's in a very good cause, renewable energy here, so what? Besides which, if I read what Chris has said here correctly, that's exactly what Piccard and Borschberg want.
