OK, how many times do we need to watch a story wherein the protagonist, whatever their gender, has magical or super powers. But, they learn to be afraid to use them. Then, when all hell breaks loose, they see their loved ones murdered and are themselves attacked. And, they reuse to use their power(s). Am I the only

What is this nonsense about Morgan building “faux classic” cars? That is sophomorically snarky. Morgan has been in business for nearly 110 years. Calling Morgan “faux classic” is equivalent to calling Queen Elizabeth II “faux aristocrat”. What in your mind would constitute a “real classic” motor car company?

A long time ago, I had the pleasure of seeing Charles Stross at a reading in Portland at Powell’s. I think it was for his second Merchant Princes novel.

That is a brilliant move by Chabon, one of out best writers, and his colleagues, for all the reasons mentioned. The one thing you forgot to mention was his deep and loving knowledge of history’s greatest playwrights. Years ago, I saw him on Broadway in The Tempest. He was astounding.

Stop raining on my parade!! I will think it’s an alien visitor until it leaves the Solar System. That will probably be long after I’m no longer here to be disappointed.

Damn, you beat me to it! Congrats.

As old as I am today, one of the most difficult and unforgettable experiences of my life was when as young person in my teens I lost a young friend to death. The cause really doesn’t matter. It’s the fact that for the first time you realize that it’s not just old people who die. It is the first real inkling any of us

Star Trek to an early geek.

Perhaps Snyder should only be allowed to shoot stills.

Any resemblance between I, Robot the book and I, Robot the movie was accidental.

I would guess that we’re looking at a giant Stargate. The reason it is near Mars is probably to protect Earth and its orbiting companions from a catastrophic failure of the Stargate. Just a guess

What a loss. It’s been a part of my life every day for manyyears. I look forward to its Monday list of new releases which seems to be as comprehensive as any on the web.

I’d be willing to bet that Food Industry lobbying has prevented the FDA from coming down on “natural” labels. I would imagine the right wing would be up in arms if it were banned.

What?! You think it was MY fault?

You’re nuts if you don’t read the books. They are fantastic.

I could not have said it any better. Supergirl has turned out to be one of the best things on TV this year.
