That’s a pretty thin pretext, “moderate inconvenience” is not the standard for throwing out the rule of law. Lets not make this bigger than it really is, no one is being killed in the streets no one is being actually attacked.

If the police are unwilling to handle them, hold the police leadership accountable, charge them with dereliction of duty, charge them with insurrection if they refuse lawful commands to restore order, replace them with someone that will do their job as the law requires.

I would disagree, no one’s lives are being threatened here, no one is unsafe. The lowering of the threshold for the usage of emergency powers should be deeply troubling.

It’s still an emergency powers act whose roots are in wartime authority.

Protests are not obligated to be convenient.  If this was a cause you agree with you’d be wholeheartedly in support of their right to protest.
