I've been upgraded MANY times, due to elite status. Two of my favorite non-elite upgrades...

Some airlines I've traveled on (can't remember which, though) the upgrade is automatic, and happens at least a day before the flight. I remember getting texts and/or emails telling me I've been upgraded when I was traveling a lot. In those cases, the computer would have already upgraded everyone, and you might be

I probably missed it when it originally aired, so, can someone review the "binder clip" stand used for turn-by-turn navigation? THANKS!

Just picked up a few today at Valu. It's kind of local to my area, but if you have a Valu in your area, you might be able to get some for free there.

The sad thing about this is that anyone who is doing this stuff knows that the cops are after them, and will go out of their way to encrypt their data, or otherwise stop the ISP from seeing where they are going and what they are doing. The average person, on the other hand, won't. I expect that very little success

If you feel below your adam's apple, you find a spot where your collar bones come together, forming a little v. Gently, very gently, start to push in that spot with one finger. You'll find, very quickly, that if your finger is in the bottom of that v, and you push, it will HURT. If your attacker is in front of you,

Personally, I like Goo-Be-Gone. Yes, it's the commercial product, but I like it for two reasons. First, it works really well. Second, I've used it with great success on my hands when they have stickery type stuff on them. The orange smell isn't the best for me, but it's better than vinegar or WD40. A bottle of it

I have been doing the garbage bag thing for years, but only in places where access to new bags is not available. The car's garbage (I drive a minvan, so yes, I have a garbage in my car), my office garbage, and so on.

Dark Side or not, it's always good to say, "Hey, folks. Don't forget, this is illegal. Do it at your own risk. LH is not responsible for any trouble you may cause/get yourself into!"

NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

When my niece got a new car, the first gift I got her was a good set of jumper cables. EVERY car should have a good solid set of these things. Not some cheap crap ones, either. Spend the extra few bucks, and keep them in the back of your car. You, or someone else, will be glad you did.

I've jumped a lot of cars in my time, but I've always done it terminal to terminal. Knowing the proper way is a good thing.

If you have admin rights on your machine and feel comfy in regedit, you can change it in the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\W32Time\Parameters using the NtpServer key. (Based on Torchwood's post below). But, be careful about doing it on a Domain connected machine. Apparently,

Just updated mine include the "us." part. I was just using pool.ntp.org. I have mine set to go every hour, and I don't know why. I'll change it to every day, I think.

Really. Didn't know that. Too late now, as I don't know the original time machine. I don't know why they put it on a domain, as I'm never in the office—I live six hours from the office (I'm a computer consultant, so the work I do on my laptop generates revenue for my company, but is never for my company.) I just

Now this got me thinking about those cotton gloves some people wear to bed to keep their hand cream on at night. But you couldn't use that because they are too lose and don't allow a good grip.

My laptop is on a domain, so it was syncing to the domain controller, which was 3 minutes off. I don't have an "Internet Time" tab, because of the corporate lock-down. I had to use a command line. Something like this: [www.windowsnetworking.com]

You forgot to mention that Notepad++ is available as a portable app, which makes it even handier!

I merged the two. I could get a gmail account, but then I'd have to go through "correcting" the issue later on.

So, I can't sign up for Google+ because I can't get a Google Profile because I'm using Google Apps for Domains. I thought they had made these regular Google accounts, but apparently, they haven't turned on Google Profiles for Domains yet. Anyone have any idea when that will happen?
