@Wes: I know for a fact that it was reimaged before I got it. It's a fresh install of XP SP3 about a month old now. It might have a lot of crap running in the background though. I will take a look and see what I can remove.
@bokscutter: I'll give this a try. Thanks
The requirement to have a data plan is usually tied to the contract. If your contract has expired, and you want to drop it, you probably will be able to drop it. Worst case, renew with a new non-smart phone, and the old sim will probably still work, or you can cut your new sim down to fit into the iPhone as alric…
I got a "new" laptop for work. It's running Windows XP SP3, has a dual core 2.66Ghz processor, and 4Gig or ram (Seen as 3+Gig by Windows). Sometimes, when I'm typing, I'll see the characters start to lag. I'll keep typing, and the letters appear slowly one by one on the screen, then will suddenly catch up with me,…
One year I got laid off from work, and couldn't find a job for a few months. My parents took care of our rent, but my wife and I had to eat. I had a part time job at the local grocery store, and that was our only income. All we could afford was Ramen. All we ate, all summer, until I landed a job, was Ramen. This was…
I feel the same way. They are giving away their software in exchange for you putting up with a tiny ad. If you don't like the ads, pay for the software. Remember, not all the apps in the market are made by big companies. Many are just folks who are doing it on their own. Blocking the ads from them, might stop them…
@fuzzytux: Thanks. I downloaded this version, and gave it a shot. Looks good, but not quite what I'm looking for. I want a notebook app that will replace my paper notebook I use to jot down notes at meetings and while I'm working. The paint comes close, but it just doesn't cut it, as it has no page turning ability.
I posted on his blog, but figured I'd ask here as well. Thanks.
I tried google, and all I could find was old Pro version. No recent free versions. :(
I don't have an Android phone, yet. :(
Does anyone know where I can download the free version besides the market. The market says my tablet isn't compatible, but half the time it says that, it turns out it is. I'd like to try this out and see if it will work.
I have two fonneras that I don't use. I've tried to hack them, but can't seem to make it happen. I stopped using them a while back, because I needed everything on the same subnet (wired and unwired), and you can't do that with a fon. Now I've read about people who have unsecured networks and their house was raided…
When you hear "Your call may be recorded...." you always have the right to say to the person who answers "I do not what this call recorded." In most cases, they will stop the recording if they can. If you live in one of the dual party states (California), you could state that, too. "I live in California where you…
Number one thing that has always worked for me. Be polite. This includes the obvious stuff like not yelling, not cursing, and saying please and thank you, but also includes some other stuff, too. Like admitting to the person on the other end that you know they personally didn't cause your problem. That goes a long…
The command line stuff can be confusing, but it can also be easy once you understand it. I'm going to assume you're talking about stuff like "adb install package.apk".
Just like there are those who can pull it off with as little as 4 or 5 hours of sleep (my old roommate in college could do that!), it goes the other way, too. I need at least nine hours, but prefer ten.
"Just paste the tracking number into Chrome's Omnibar or a Google search. Google will ask you if you want to track the package. Then click."
I think the best idea that has ever come to me in the shower was to wash my hair, too.
I've tried tricks like this, and holding your floor button, on several elevators. Never seen it work. It looks like it works, but I've done it over and over again, as you can't be sure the reason it's working isn't because there's no one to stop for. Eventually, without fail, the elevator will stop while I'm doing…
