Perhaps already mentioned but number is way off for Ford Fusion. 1/16th of a tank is probably right but it’s only got about 13 usable gallons in the tank so even 35 miles is only achievable if you’re on the highway/freeway and slow down to 50 mph.

Service departments introduce the problem in some cases. I've had 3 vehicles that I always left in Auto but EVERY TIME I got my vehicle back from being serviced the light switch had been turned Off. Fortunately I do tend to notice if I can't see as well and can correct the problem before driving too far at night.
