Just repeating a point that’s been mentioned before.  The strategic beauty of the IRA Act was such that it spread money around everywhere, especially the Midwest and the south.  Now that those jobs are there, any attempt to kill those industries (EVs, lithium batteries, etc) will look bad.  Talk about digging in.

Yes, see IRA Act. See (finally) improvements being made to the grid. At least half a dozen projects...right now...involving UHV DC power lines being strung up everywhere, to bring the grid into the 21st century. You’re welcome.

IRA Act and CHIPs Act.

Who isn’t he fighting with or pissing off these days?

Oh yeah, the Indy 500 was this past weekend.  Not on my radar anymore unless it’s a road race.

Fascist.  Not communist.  Think of Hitler.  The comparison is valid.

Many of the world’s automakers already decided to take the EV route, even in the EU, before any government regulations were announced.  The economies of scale matter here, if you’re still trying to produce a gas car in ten years.  It’ll be priced too high.

Comment of the Day nomination.

Dude, you need to stop using the word ‘dopest’.  I can’t even tell you what outdated era it’s from.

Just a thought.  I understand the use of a foldable screen on something like a phone or pad, to increase screen surface area.  But on a laptop? One side is the keyboard.  What’s the point?

Aha!!!!  So simple yet no one sees that.

Someone take his internet connection away.

Second vote. There’s no transmission. You don’t need any extra bits that do exactly nothing. And how is driving an EV boring?  The acceleration is as addictive as any other drug.

What a waste of resources.  That 205 kWh battery could be used to make three 5-passenger family cars, with almost 300 miles of range a piece, in a more aerodynamic and lighter body.

The 21st century will be remembered as the Era of Remote Planetary Exploration. All those shows I watched growing up insisted the only way to explore the cosmos was to go there in a space ship. Here we are doing initial surveys on thousands of planetary systems from our couches.

Yes, just cheap EVs.  Not everyone is rich.

Finally.  All junk fees, from all industries, strangle the middle class.

Clarification.  The black hole is spinning at that velocity, or is the matter around it spinning at that velocity?  If so, then with shit loads of energy, we should be able to go 1/4C.

Same for Bigfoot.  I expected to have a nice high resolution poster on my wall by now.

The price has spiked considerably, true. I didn’t know this place existed until the late 1980s.  We had a family friend who was a rather large stockholder in Disney.  The promised attendance never happened.  Didn’t matter, I was a kid more interested in the rides.
