I liked the ending. I didn't find it all that predictable. As I watched the episode and started factoring in all that's happened before it just made sense that it would end that way . I think the best line was from Root who said Samaritan won the minute the machine gang did not kill that congressman a few episodes

I'm convinced the Machine wanted Finch to get captured, to meet Greer and Samaritan face to face. It's unlikely that the fully-functional Machine would be outsmarted by a semi-operational Samaritan, or that it would allow Finch to give himself up. There has to be some reason it's beneficial for Finch to get taken-
