I adore this guy and his imagination and spirit. Sacks wrote this touching remark about death:
Shaw isn't dead; we saw her (recovering) in a bed, with Greer nearby.
Once the war between AIs started to escalate in earnest and Samaritan had assembled an army or worker/assassins, it has to accelerate towards a denouement. Neither side is going to pause as time is always of the essence, especially in all out war. Thus, The Machine better well gets is assets in gear ASAP. Or else…
Wonder if the enormous cost of building this sucker, which might well exceed $1 Trillion over the decade, will cause the Kingdom to raise the price of petroleum.

Thanks for the reminder. I'll bring my darkest goggles and lots of that Infinity SPF Sunscreen.
Cool — does a shiny twinkly ball drop at Midnight? I'd like to be there.
460 feet of silk for one moth does not seem an especially efficient use of energy and time. surely, there's a lesser effort that will do.
I love it, that 40 years on, people are still quoting Gravity's Rainbow.
He looks exactly like a guy who was sitting in the balcony of St Marks Lutheran Church for last night's concert with mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter. Except the sweater was a brighter red.
