this was one of the most beautiful episodes ever. i shall treasure this one.

a nice lady at the Turkana Basin Institute told me it's now been posted for free download.

something bigger on the inside than the outside, with an infinite number of rooms.

No Torchwood, Really? and a dozen other obvious sci-fi series

i still remember how terrifyingly scared I was as a 6-year old watching the huge ants in Them, and the Monster from the Black Lagoon. and jumping out of my seat when the first Alien burst through a chest. for me, what made them so horribly scary was the inability to escape them. i suppose that's existential.

i caught the end — this was wonderful. i hope someone can post a link to the on-demand archive version when that's available (from uStream or AMNH)

a BBC press release explained that due to a spell of really nice weather, viewing was down on all channels at that time. and when you include the BBC's iPlayer and BBC America, the stats will be rock solid.

right, but (1) that always seemed shamelessly too obvious, thus not real, and (2) it was never clear when or why she would, and we now have motive and opportunity. the Doctor instructed her to kill him, re: some solution to the problem of the Silence.

that's a fabulous notion, the child is River. awesome idea. i had been wondering whether the astronaut at the end was River, at the Doctor's instruction. maybe they're both correct?

"The Event" is the announcement that the show will not be renewed for a second season?

Will the BBC still be broadcasting new Doctor Who episodes?

As Doctor Who #11 might say, "mutants are cool."

Whoopi Goldberg, and she even has that "Who" in her name. She'd be Doctor Whoo-pi. How cool is that?

"Dirk Gently... After a reasonable successfully special" ... and a slightly less than 'reasonable successfully' copy edit.

11. the Tea Party

See Cadillac Desert (the book). America's largest aquifer is also draining faster than being replenished. Oops.

there is no reason to show the baby's bloodline, other than to show that it has been swiped. without that reason, there's really no reason to show this card being passed to Walternate.

several comments have missed the essential point about the episode. namely, that the blood swab handed to Walternate was swapped from the original taken from the baby.

"Bloodlines" refers to the fact that the blood swap has been swapped.

if you look carefully, the blood smear on the one handed to Walternate is DIFFERENT from the one taken from the baby.
