Valid points, all y'all. Thanks! To Ralphie—I think you may be right as well, but I read that about 'killer' african bees...not sure about other species. Thanks again folks.

MAN. This IS going to be chalk-full of ideas. I am going to read it, but I was nearly overwhelmed by the deluge of concepts and ideas that are in this book. I could feel my blood pressure rising as I read through and tried to keep all the mentioned near-future thingies sorted in my head...then I realized I'm on my

Reminds me of a Wendigo.

Thank you! I'll be honest, there's a lot of terminology I simply don't know, but I've read enough to follow what you were saying...generally. I remember learning about strong and weak nuclear force as well as electroweak force in college. I really need to educate myself a little more on the math and terminology and

I will!

When I saw "The Mummy and Van Helsing", I thought there was a crossover in the making. This brought joy-tears to my eyes. Now that I realize they are simply rebooting both films separately, I am experiencing regular, tearless joy.

I posted a comment on the story after reading this but felt the need to reply to your own here (although this was an April story and it is now June)...I have a profound respect for and interest in the bee keeping vocation. Cheers.

I can't help but wonder how this trait came about. I need to be careful here not to give a sense of teleology or end-purpose to the evolutionary process that brought this about, so forgive me if I go all "evolution made or caused this" here with my language: why on Earth did the trait to lose one's guts as part of a

Would you mind explaining that equation a bit? I'm not a physics type, but love reading about it...just not sure what I was reading.

Thank you much.

Agreed. One would have to shut one's eyes and cover one's ears and sing when a trailer comes on during commercial breaks on tv, or when the trailers begin before the start of a movie in the theater. You'd need to live under a rock not to know the basic premise of a big budget movie before it comes out.

I just want to say that I really enjoyed Prometheus and am glad I was finally able to see it. A you folks flaming out and getting pissed can move on now. Jeez, it was painful to read all the anger and hate for this film. Was it so bad that ranting like a man dying of the slobbering fits fixed anything for you? :(

It was never suppose to be a hard prequel. It was meant to be a stand-alone in the shared Alien Universe. I originally had the same expectations, but in the last couple months leading up to the film I found a LOT of reports, stories, interviews and Q&As that explained what the film was aimed to be. I went in

He is the computer doing it! He's just got a body and interface that give him a human presence for the sake of the crew, morale, aid and participation in the field. :)

Speaking of which, will Guillermo Del Toro EVER get around to doing that film?!!? I've been waiting all my life! Practically...

Chimps share what, like 98% or 99% of our DNA? Some species with a genetic match could/would still have a gene or two (or dozen) that we don't have or express. I think one or two genes would account for such a difference in size and appearance. Thoughts?

I think that was David's own perogative (sp?). After talking to Mr. Weyland and being told to "try harder" he resolved to get some data and results, which is why he justified his decision by asking Holloway what he would do for his answers ("anything and everthing"). That's just my thinking though.

+1

Angry much? I genuinely liked it. I think most Alien fans were happy to see it come about, and the acting and scope of the film was incredible. Sure it was different than a lot of people expected. That doesn't mean it's bad. I went in expecting a great film and left with a smile and a racing heartbeat.

Isn't that imaginary, rather than undefined?
