The brain aneurysm that finally kills me will be the result of one too many "EYE-TALEEan" from my mother.
(And I've been through some horrible shit; I'm pretty tough. But Jesus tap-dancing CHRIST you're 75 years old and seem to know how to read and MARRIED INTO AN ITALIAN FAMILY 54 YEARS AGO… AAARRRGGGGHHHHH)
*brain

I had to scroll way too far for this!

You and me both. I fear I've gotten too old to ever achieve good "internet communication"… Hell, just good garden-variety sarcasm flies right over my dumb damn head these days.
The derp is mine.

Sure you're not thinking amps? A model 1959 Marshall is from 1965 through 1981 (and then reissued in 1988). But a 1959 Martin D-18 is a D-18 made in 1959.
Or maybe all of Gibson and Fender's "re-issues" are what's throwing you.

I think not. Look up the actual 1959 D-18E in good condition, then multiply by a factor of DAMN.

(from an old blog post, pretty good stuff…)

But the reference in the article was to the American critter (most folks call them "possum" and omit the "o").
The Australian varmint has a furry tail, and isn't exactly known for invading North America…
Also- I got a HUGE chip on my shoulder these days regarding "fake information", and I realize I'm probably coming

Thank you for this! The original comment hurt my damn head, like "yahoo answers" or something.

So, are you making things up just for laughs, or do you actually believe this?
Opossums have been native to North America for around 2-3 million years; before that, they waddled here from South America via Panama, no swimming required.

They didn't swim anywhere. They're native to North America via South America during the Pleistocene era (about 2.5 million years before humans got here).
The "archmage" is just making stuff up.

I got real excited about that movie, saw it opening night…
Next day, when I was asking folks go to see it again with me, they asked why, and I was reduced to "several scenes are really super-neato, even though the main character is 100% wrong, Parallax and Sinestro are squandered, and the story and dialog are terrible,

Awwww, come on baby… LET'S GO!

You better start from the start!

Yep- Random Roles is a really good idea, and it's done consistently well (at least the ones I've read).

Cool article- thanks!
(I just recently discovered AVCLUB, so I've missed a lot of great stuff.)

She reminds me of a young Elizabeth Brooks (Marsha in "The Howing").
Related: I was amazed to find out that Eddie-the-rogue-porno-werewolf was played by Robert Picardo form ST:Voyager.

It's as I've always said: AVCLUB is the best website because the commenters there GET IT; they're real people with shared life experiences of love and loss.
We gotta stick together, brochacho.

Damn good eats over there, for sure.

+1 Ram Jam
(or +1 Lead Belly, if you're old-school)

Well, we've all been there: Find a nice, boring gal, settle down, then she turns omnipotent and insane and one day you wake up 50 years old on the floor of a decaying single-wide surrounded by empty whiskey bottles, and you're wondering if it's too late to give life one last shot…
Tale as old as time, really.
