I dunno how to respond to that. If I like a film and my mate doesn't, referring to the film as being rotten is ludicrous.

You are right in that referring to 50% of critcs liking something as “rotten” is ridiculous.

I was getting the impression that the audience opinion was a lot kinder and purely anecdotally, in my little gaming group no one was claiming it was great but we all enjoyed it at least.

While i’m not going to claim that the film is “good actually”, i’m no film expert...the film is a *hell* of a lot more faithful than whatever this idiot was talking about...about the only suspect thing is really the casting, the plot, the script and the action felt pretty Uncharted to me though.

The developers raising concerns here aren’t concerned how much much money these practices have made they care about the optics and the entertainment value.

Ah reloading. I always thought games needed more reloading back in the day, possibly inspired by Duke 3Ds pistol (the sound of 12 rapid fire rounds and the click of the reloading is embedded in my brain) it felt like quite the oversight.

Same. I tapped out sometime after Forsaken, and whenever all the expansion packs go on sale its a little tough to figure out what exactly I’d need to buy and then there’s the risk that stuff might get vaulted.

UK doesn’t celebrate thanksgiving and we’ve had Black Friday for years now, I think the “Black Friday is tied to Thanksgiving” horse has bolted.

They are lucky that this 25 year old formula works so damn well after all this time cos yeh, this remake is so bare bones all it has *is* that nigh on perfect formula.

I dunno, it is pretty binary. The word remake, is that they are literally “making” the game from scratch and the word remaster is literally “mastering” what was already there. The content doesn’t really factor into it.

When the original formula is that damn perfect it's kinda hard not to let them :/

They very clearly “made” this game from the ground up though. They didn’t “remaster” those old sprites or anything.
