Give it a decade or two.

And nobody gave a sweet flying frig about it until Trump needed to divert attention from his troubles.

Boot to the head...

It’s really a huge amount of nothing, a desperate attempt to divert attention from his impeachment. I suppose we should be thankful he’s not resorting to Clinton’s approach of looking for things to bomb.

I suspect like any large industrial product, there probably are some unpleasant byproducts created in their construction. I don’t know how it compares with the construction of any other power, but I suspect their more than offset by the lack of emissions while it’s operating.

Yes, billionaires in wine caves should have just as much right to decide who is president as waitresses or plumbers.  The problem is that they currently far more right to decide who is president.

Not in the least.  I think the C4 is one of the best looking Corvettes.  The C5 is too much like a bar of soap.

If this stuff is wrong, then I don’t want to be right.

Yep, those very people.

I’m getting flashbacks to the first time I saw the penultimate episode of The Prisoner and thought, “At last, this is all going to make sense...”

Because giving it to smart people makes people sad and inadequate. Also because they have spent their lives acquiring knowledge instead of social skills, they have this annoying habit of telling people things that they don’t want to hear.

Mostly mocking the more hard core tree huggers, but CFLs do ha a little bit of mercury in them. It’s far less than what you’d get in a thermometer, and their long life and lower energy use still puts them ahead of incandescent bulbs.

The first one I remember was a Mafia black 1955 Cadillac Coupe de Ville, and that was pretty cool

Nobody’s mentioned this one yet?

And the people making out like these bulbs are some kind of sacrifice? Come on, a bulb that goes years between changes and slashes your electric bill is hardly a sacrifice.. I have CFLs right now (I know, I am a monster), but I have a package of LED bulbs for when they finally expire. Their main drawback seems to be

Honestly? I’d really like to see Bond done as a ‘60s period piece.

Really, Dune needs the Game of Thrones treatment, but I am really looking forward to seeing what Denis Villeneuve does with it.
