Unfortunately she's in prison in King's Landing.

I agree, I don't see Louis as a child-man at all, especially if you compare him to Dre on Black-ish. Jessica wouldn't have married a child-man. She wants someone to be as strong as she is.

Yeah, most people (read: white people) don't realize how racist Asians are towards one another. Embedded within the model minority stereotype is the assumption that we're all one big happy homogenous group. We ain't.

I had a similar situation with my grandmother. She spoke English, but was more comfortable in Tagalog. I understood her perfectly but always responded in English.

If he wanted such a dark show he shouldn't have gone with an ABC sitcom. He should have floated his bio to Showtime or HBO.

It would be great to hear the boys speaking to their grandmother in Chinese.

I'm also glad to see the grandmother given meatier things to say. And I love that the parents don't have to translate what grandma is saying to the boys.

I agree. There are these odd little moments which take off and shift "reality". The van hitting the boys and Eddie getting hit by the lawn dart are great examples. They give Jessica an opportunity to display her incredibly dry wit. Eddie gets hurt and the first thing his mom says is, "what did you do?" Isn't that so

"Eddie, I could get by with only two sons. Think about that."

I loved the grandmother teaching the boys how to gamble. My grandmother taught me how to play mahjong and gamble when I was their age. My mother taught my daughter around the same age.
