It depends on if you meant that in not liking the Yankees sort of way, which if that's the case, I got news for you, everyone outside of New York hates the Yankees.

You are generalizing wayyyy to much and again using bad comparisons.

Actually die hard is adapted from a book, plus it's the " lone hero" lethal definition is the definition of a " buddy cop" movie. Bad comparison

Cop fights terrorist to protect hostages. Not an original premise, just moved from an office building to a bus.

I agree ,but its not really original to have talking animals in an animated film

I think he'll still be under contract with Netflix then so no theatrical release would occur

Don't even get me started on Storm Sutherland!!

Just recalled the conversation in Knocked Up; Dante's Peak/Volcano, Armageddon/Deep Impact.. As far as animation goes, anything with talking animals is pretty much a low concept, lowest common denominator , rehash of other talking animal movies, maybe just with a different settings and different animals.

I have never heard of those other movies, so I guess the next question what are some well known ripoffs (other than Die Hard on a bus/train/plane etc. ones that were either 1) Box office successes or 2.) Better than what they were ripping off. Do you see Avatar as a ripoff of DWW like I do? If not, why not?

I can let someone take it from there, I will accept created by and/or producer credits as long as I get a cut.

Would you consider Star Wars as a rip off of Star Trek? I think we tread in murky waters when dealing with ripoffs vs inspired by. I myself think Avatar is just Dances with Wolves in space, so I guess that would be a ripoff? Can you provide an example of what you would consider a ripoff? I'm not arguing with you

I can hear the previews voice over now now.. "Kevin James never been lucky with love (cue scene of him spilling a drink on a pretty girl), until he met someone with the same personality as his (cue underage orphan girl spilling a girl on a guy), (cue a meet-cute at a Starbucks). The only problem is she's only 15

Actually I was 18-19 first time I saw it and teared up quite a bit.

Aren't ripoffs basically the same thing?

Never heard of it. I guess I was going with higher profile " mainstream" movies

Well for what it's worth I'm sure that movie is being typed up right now, although he may pass it off for Rob Schneider to star in.

She's on all the time now! Only because one of the movie channels I subscribe to has recently started replaying Mallrats.

Fun fact, he took the exact same highway chase scene from The Island and used it in Transformers.

See The Departed, The Magnificent Seven (original)

Big Trouble in Little in China would have been much better if Russell just played every character himself, including the love interest. Don't know if it would have worked on Overboard since I can't seem him playing kids.
