I think it’s perfectly reasonable to want to adapt videogames into movies. The issue is that you shouldn’t be adapting videogames people are simply fond of (like WOW) you should be adapting videgames that have interesting themes worth exploring through the lens of cinema.

Portal would make a /fantastic/ movie. Unlike in the game the protagonist would talk obviously, and I think it would be awesome to see a story exploring this extremely intimate relationship between the tester and GLaDOS. Where they are bonded as closely as any two people can be thanks to being the only two sentient

As far as Japanese-Korean tension it is more the other way around. Japan committed a lot of horrible war crimes during WWII (and throughout history) against Koreans. Most modern folks don’t feel any particular way, but there is definitely still some bad blood and pervasive cultural bias.

It’s pretty funny watching every single character become Asian haha Not talking about the examples you put here, but on tumblr I follow a lot of Japanese and Korean artists and it funny how many of them make the characters Asian without acknowledged it.

Halo was the first shooter I ever played, and I never played any doom game before new doom. And yet even I instantly thought, “But doom came first.” And something tells me the artist is older than I am.

I actually love the pistol haha definitely one of the coolest looking weapons in the game, if not simply the coolest. Too bad they made it suck, because with just a little change it could be awesome. They should have made its fire-rate be “as fast as you can pull the trigger,” and made it so that once fully upgraded

Does the toy guy that you fist bump count? One of them (I think probably the one for the doom marine himself) the doom marine tweaks until its hand is outstretched, then fist-bumps it before putting it away.

It is set in current times. For me it was at the end *spoilers!* after the time jump. I know stylistically it wouldn’t make sense to make it futuristic-y. But for how old the girls seems plus the years I imagine before her birth, really there should have been some pretty significant clues around the house of

The giant “cod sucks” circle jerk confuses me, I can’t relate. I had a lot of fun with them for years, then I got kind of sick of them and slowly stopped playing, and soon caring about them much at all. I still kind of keep track of what they are like, but they only enter my mind for like a week when a new one is

It was cool but still not quite where I want it. Definitely it was fun, but it was like everything was made out of drywall. I don’t think I ever actually finished it because the charm wore off for me. Of course this all has to do with my personal taste not the quality of games.

One can hope so. Poe’s law is ever a fixture of internet comments.

Honestly I was just responding to that one part where you said it was ironic for him to say that they weren’t welcome because the community is (supposed to be) based around inclusion. That’s why I started out with “sorry’ since I was mostly getting it out of my system, and your main point wasn’t in regards to that

Of course I recognize the reasons, I’m just saying I’m not a fan of the pseudo physics. I either want my ship to have health, or I want it to be damaged /actually/ realistically. I find all in-between annoying.

Like when building games have “realistic physics” but are still limited to blocks and prefabs. If I have to

It’s possible I guess. But judging by the fact Illaoi is about as far removed from classic video game sexiness as possible, I kind of doubt it.

Sorry but I hate that logic so much. It’s like when in real life when somebody throws around racist/homophobic/whatever remarks and are removed from a discussion, then people claim, “See you talk about inclusion but you don’t allow dissenting voices.” No, that isn’t how it works. People who discriminate and spread

I’m not really big on the “real physics” thing happening recently. In reality things aren’t made of cubes. If I can’t get all of the finesse of realistic construction I don’t want the limitations of “realistic physics”.

What baffles me with comments like these is that devs don’t pretty much ever make an unattractive female character. She is good looking, her face is proportioned in a way that compliments itself. She isn’t scared or blemished in an unattractive way. With some few exceptions unattractive female characters are

I am experiencing farm envy.

This is dumb haha I’m going to need a study with a little more sophistication before I give this any thought. I’m fully ready to believe most dogs don’t want to be hugged by most people, and a small group dislike hugs no matter what, but that’s it. No way are dogs against physical affection from humans they are

I can’t tell if you are joking...
