They turned up the nice meter on him for this episode too

Howard was never truly a dick, though. Sure, he was pompous and a bit overbearing, but he literally let Jimmy assume for, what, years(?) that he was the one holding up his advancement at HHM, not Chuck.

Definitely the most well plotted one I’ve seen. Most rely on cheesy flashbacks and fake outs ‘But what you didn’t know, was this!’ where they’re tricking not only the mark in universe but the audience as well - which just falls flat and empty.

Here every bit of their scheme happens, or is hinted at, in front of us

1. That may have been the best long con I’ve ever seen. (If there are any other shows with similar schemes on this level, I’d love to hear ‘em)

He is going to be forever known as the lawyer who had a drug problem and killed himself thus ruining the name HHM.  Now that is just cruel.

They might make it look like a suicide, which people would probably believe based on his last few weeks. *sniff* This is me best-case-scenario-ing this thing.

Didn’t even pick up on the coachroach thing. What an awesome detail.

God that final scene made me scream holy fuck so loud I think my neighbors heard me. And now we have to wait 6 weeks to see what happens next!

DAMN! Now that is a fucking CLIFFHANGER.

I’ve said before that this season had me starting to really feel for Howard.

I don’t think that should ever matter; the original cast was incorporating parodies of old noir movies and the like, and there have been sketches that expected some degree of knowledge of pop-cultural history throughout the show’s run. I can’t even count the number of things throughout my life where the first

Now playing

Bryant’s rare in that she is equally good playing the weird center of a sketch or a person reacting to what’s going on. She could basically be thrown into any sketch and it would be better. Her role in “Meet Your Second Wife,” for example, is smaller than almost everyone else’s, but she really stands out:

Aidy got her goodbye at the end of Future Trends, I guess. “In: leaving your dream job of 10 years”

Should do a re-watch of ‘It Should Happen to You’, the Judy Holliday and Jack Lemon movie about a woman who pulls an Angelyne with a nothing-advertising (or self-advertising) billboard in Times Square. From the 1950s. Wonder if it impacted Angelyne.

Absolutely! She is incredibly talented and friggin’ gorgeous. I hope this show helps her build to the status you’re talking about.

Part of me is clearly still 11 years old, because “the titular star” made me giggle.

I really hope this lands big. Emmy Rossum is one of those actors who absolutely should be a star, but just hasn’t quite landed that project that matches her skills. Phantom of the Opera *should* have made her, but it was badly done, and the Phantom miscast. Shameless was career best work for her, but it was hampered

No, Season 4 is already written, just not yet filmed.

She showed some real talent when she accidentally threw the picture, couldn’t find it, and rolled with it somehow crafting it into the sketch as part of the joke. That’s hard to do real time to make an obvious screw up still funny. It reminded a little bit of some Conan O’Brien bits where something didn’t go as

Lordy, this was such a half-assed episode. Sarah may have flubbed, but she brought ENERGY, the only bright spot for me in the entire evening.
