Has anyone else noticed that lifehacker articles (haven't tested with other gawker sites) don't display on android? (both with chrome and opera web browser)

Hook it up to the telly and get your old school game on!

Mine seems fine, certainly wouldn't want it any louder but I suppose it's subjective.

I'd definitely recommend getting a PS3 over the other consoles, but I'd also say that PC gaming is far from unsocial. While living in halls of residence at uni my friends and I were frequently huddled around a PC taking turns on DoD, CS, TF2 and loads of other single player games, usually on a 5 or 10 deaths each

On another note that I forgot to mention, my friend had a great idea for his business cards which takes this principle to the next level (but isn't very portable!)

I think it would be foolish to have a completely blank business card. But I totally agree with the underlying principle which is why I have all my business cards printed on one side only so I have space to jot down notes specific to the person I'm giving it to on the other side.

For facebook, I use the wordbooker plugin which covers all the bases. The 2 best features:

This has been annoying me too. Lack of predictive text in that particular text field is annoying too, but that might just be with the HTC sense keyboard.

lol, well now I feel stupid! thought launcher pro sounded like a task manager, which now that I think about it is preposterous....

On OS X? iMovie without a shadow of doubt. Easiest to use video editing suite out there.

I have a desire HD and love it. The larger screen is great for watching videos on and makes web browsing much nicer. The touch screen is very responsive and build quality is great (apart from possibly the SIM cover).

I keep hearing that the android OS by nature shouldn't require apps like launcher pro. Task manager apps on the whole apparently get in the way of the built in task/memory management functions of the OS.

This is done with the text-shadow property, but giving it negative values so the shadow displays inside the text rather than outside:

Nice easy to follow tutorial for the novice. I think it's worth mentioning though that it's still not advisable to rely on CSS for rounded corners and drop shadows (and a whole pile of other crap). The majority of people using Internet Explorer still use versions 7&8, which don't support the majority of CSS3 styled

I've been using opera mobile for a while now, but not exclusively on Android. It's been my mobile browser of choice on my last 4 phones, which include an android, winmo 6.5, symbian, and whichever OS the LG prada was based on. My point is that Opera's mobile offerings have just been getting better and better in my

I'm so grateful that the networks in the UK don't try to charge extra for the privilege of tethering.

That's a tricky one. Removing the sidebar is easy, you just comment out/delete the < ?php get_sidebar(); ?> bit in your custom page template file. Removing the header in same way would also remove all content in the section of your page though.

No problem, yeah that article applies to .com and .org versions of wordpress, but when you get into the really technical stuff, it's important that you seek help on the wordpress.org page.

I'd doubt the terms of service forbid uploading pictures for personal storage/backup purposes. The simplest way of preventing browser access is to include a .htaccess file on the root of each folder, simply containing the text:

Yeah dude that's totally possible. You just need to set up canonical URLs properly.
