I agree with you that the Cayman should be the racing platform, and that the 911 is a grand tourer... but there’s a lot of race cars that are built off of grand tourers. In fact, there’s multiple classes of race car, including ones that 911s compete in, called “GT”.

I dont get the “hate” from enthusiast that the 911 hasn’t really changed. Why change it? Its a great formula and outguns cars with much higher HP figures and always leads the pack in driver feedback and engagement. Its a true rounded sports car.
