I have never used sugar in a yeast bread. I see it a lot in recipes but assumed it was for flavor. If you mix the water and flour together about half an hour before you add the yeast or salt the flour starches will break down a little bit allowing the yeast to better digest the sugars in the flour.

There are a ton of microbrews but most of them put restaurants in the same building. It’s so common that the microbrews without an attached pub don’t typically do very well.

It might be in one of the links (I’m too lazy to read them) but where do they tend to go after leaving Google? Other large tech companies? existing start ups? start their own startups? leave tech entirely?

It’s anecdotal but in my area it’s common to just call a brewpub “a brewery” especially if it’s the only location for that business. “Want to go down to the such and such brewery and get some dinner?” is a relatively common regional question.

The post said brewery but he is talking about a burger so it’s probably a “brewpub”. Most of the brewpubs near me also have some kind of fancy rootbeer or ginger ale.
