1992 was a long time ago so the Christmas season in those days had just begun, unlike today where it starts the day after Halloween.

You could re-read my original post where I do explain the major problem of looking at American children as a place where natural selection occurs. Natural selection is a process that works on an entire population. The human population is now global. There is gene exchange across the whole planet and the loss of a few

There are no decent graphing calculator apps for starters but even if there were it would be a clunky way to do it. A good graphing calculator does the job so well and with great ease and you never get a call, msg or other nonsense interfering while you're using it. If you really need a graphing calculator you need a

You don't need to apply darwinisim to people. It either occurs or it doesn't. My beef is that you don't seem to understand how it works. and you just proved my point again.

The deviation from the book in the first movie and then the backing off for the other two was weird. I'm not sure why they bothered sticking to the story so closely some places and then not in others.

All the first run movies I've ever seen and will ever see in the future aren't worth $35,000 so I guess my answer to your question is no.

The question is would someone really say. "Do I want a Macbook Air or the MS Surface Pro? Hmmm... My chief consideration is really price so...".

Evolution works on populations of animals. The human animal population is now a worldwide population. Natural selection on the level of a few American children will have no effect whatever on the human genome. Not protecting children from senseless deaths will not "improve" the species as I think you're suggesting.

Yup. Service Temporarily Unavailable or maybe it's forever.

About time but I switched to something I'm satisfied with. I trust it will be a blessing to those who have been saddled with it up until now.

Why is a guy that is about a million times bigger than this spider so afraid of it? If the spider is there then it's eating insects (and other arthropods) in his house which it's not eating anymore. It's probably better to just let the ecosystem alone.

It's testament perhaps to the fact that most scientists are involved in things that are incredibly interesting/fascinating to themselves and a few other scientists but the average public either finds uninteresting (or maybe merely interesting) or incomprehensible.

I just bought a beer but it was at regular price but I did use my debit card. I regret nothing.

When I lived in NYC they just sent the street sweepers down and cleaned it up. It's not that difficult. Every business, condo and apartment hoses off their sidewalk every day. The street sweeping is included in the budget and fully expected. They do it after all the numerous street festivals and neighbourhood block

Well there isn't actually an opportunity. He's just saying stuff. We have no way of getting humans there and no way of keeping them alive when they get there. It's not being negative to point that out, just looking at the state of reality.

Because they believed the "therapists" when they told them they were doing all kinds of good for them. People buy those magnetic bracelets etc and they have no efficacy at all but people think they do. The placebo effect is a real effect.

You forgot about Steve Jobs who said it was a dumb idea but of course that was years ago now.

Well when did it go from religious observance to "scary"? Why should the latest change be any less valid? I couldn't care less about halloween no matter what it looks like but I have kids so...

What's truly amazing is the hyperbole.
