Frankly, I still think iTunes is the best of a whole lot of crappy pieces of software. Although I see the appeal of software that will sync with any device, I don't really see how we can blame Apple for keeping a tight lock on iTunes. No other player allows its software to sync with other devices, does it? So why

I want to be excited about Google Wave, but I just... can't. The whole thing seems like a solution in search of a problem.

@waitingforthebeat: I wouldn't consider keybindings to be "inherent functionality" of the OS. But if you want to go to BOL and EOL the "Mac way", use Cmd+Left, Cmd+Right, which also works on MacBooks.

@chaos0815: See my comment above for how to remap the home and end keys.

@actaea: Linux may be free, but it's also a major headache. I spent a full year using Ubuntu full-time (except for gaming) before coming to the conclusion that Linux just doesn't cut it. There's more to the debate than cost. Being "free" is not enough.

@SeanBlake: Go to your nearest Apple store. At least you'll get a feel for whether or not OS X will work for you.
