Loved the episode. Remember that the Kyle Bornheimer character is no random mark - Walt had an encounter with him in BB, which ended with Walt shorting the guy's battery and starting his car on fire. Go ahead and watch it - same character.

I guess we have to settle for that meth cook "evening-sunset-night-sunrise-morning" transition they show at the hospital.  He definitely had plenty of time to rig that up, and I don't think technical know-how is an issue.

Based on your spelling, I'm guessing you're not in the US.  Meaning you're probably less likely to run into people who consider suspension of disbelief to be a critical faculty.  Combine a religious upbringing with stoner insights, and you get "white lighters are bad luck, dude".

Short-circuiting the car battery and making that douche-nozzle watch his ride go up in flames back in season 1 was pretty sweet too.

I'm guessing it took all of a trip to Home Depot to collect "all those materials".  Seriously, why are people having trouble with the notion that a guy who can whip up ricin in the kitchen and melt his way through a steel door using shit from an Etch-a-Sketch — oh, and cook the best meth that anybody has ever seen —

Hmmm, very interesting.  I was wondering about his prolonged investigation of the special machine before he snapped a pic.  And yes, Hank did seem a bit suspicious of Gomey's results.

I've spent many good years as a stoner, and while I've never been the superstitious type, I've known plenty who are.  I never heard anything about red lighters being unlucky — every person I've ever heard talk about that has attributed the problem to white lighters.

Limping?  Salud and Crawl Space were some of the best episodes the show has ever made.  Even if End Times was a slight step down, it's no limp.

I dunno, I don't think any conscious human being could smoke a plastic vial stuffed inside a cigarette without realizing it.  Even for a little kid messing around with smoking for the first time, that would be pretty hard to miss.

"…just one more very convenient turn of events that you have to buy for his plan to work."
