Controls in a classic Sonic game consist of (or can be pared down to) a D-pad or thumbstick and a single face button. Kinda hard to screw that up.

They also had different theme songs, from what I've read. The US version had "Sonic Boom" (which I actually like, unlike most of the people here, it seems); the JP/EU version had something else (not sure what it was, as I haven't played it).

Plus, the article says that after the first guy dropped, the second guy moved to man the machine gun — if the sniper had fired the second shot before the first one hit, the guy either wouldn't have had time to move, or…
