cinema is cinema. Adding qualifiers to it is silly. In the case of Johansson, we had an opportunity for a very powerful story to be told by an excellent actress who was going to single-handedly bring attention and publicity to the project pretty much no one else would’ve have brought to it. And now that thing might

it’s called acting. She’s not “taking” anything from anyone. Do you believe only chefs can represent chefs in movies in TV?

“SHE’S TAKING A JOB FROM A GAY ACTOR!”

Jerod Leto won the SAG, Critics Choice, Golden Globes and Oscar for best supporting actor for Dallas Buyers Club. Eddie Redmayne garnered a ton of nominations for The Danish Girl, but he’d already won a number of awards for The Theory of Everything so he was passed over for The Danish Girl.

One thing I will say is that it always seems to be extra criticized when it’s a woman over a man. Well basically in everything, but especially in acting. An error of judgement is treated so much worse, like why aren’t you perfect you’re not being exactly right about everything always!?

Weren’t Eddie Redmayne and Jared Leto lauded for how well they portrayed transgender characters? Won a bunch of awards?

False equivalence.

Sometimes actors pretend to be things they’re not. It’s called acting.

My protein of choice has an entirely plant based diet.

Is this a generational divide type deal?

She also expressed her feelings to him the next day. He heard her out and apologized. I see no reason to doubt the sincerity of his apology. His statement on the matter affirms that he took her words to heart.

This was a bad date. She had a horrible date with a clueless guy who thought he was being sexy and hot. She was made to feel uncomfortable, and it wasn’t right.

The story reads to me like a groupie dissatisfied she was treated like a groupie.

Just here for the comments:

Works on contingency? No, money down.

I’m an attorney and would never represent myself in more than a speeding ticket. In my experience, people that represent themselves when they can afford an attorney are generally arrogant, cheap, and difficult to work with.

Contrary to popular belief, lawyers are not big fans of taking on unwinnable cases with nightmare clients that will require a ton of work and come with awful publicity.

A contingency fee assumes he wins, though, and this is basically lawyerese for “This fucker can’t be trusted not to shit his pants in front of the judge, so we out.”

“WE NEED TO SELECTIVELY CHOOSE WHO PUSHES FOR EQUALITY, THAT IS THE REAL WAY TO GET THIS MOVEMENT GOING”

REMEMBER IF YOU’VE EVER HAD A BAD OPINION ON SOMETHING, A BAD TAKE, OR EVER SAID SOMETHING WRONG, THEN YOU CAN NO LONGER HAVE ANY FUTURE OPINIONS, IDEAS, OR POINTS ON THINGS, AND EVERYTHING YOU DO SHOULD BE DISCREDITED.
