I really liked blue, but pikachu popularity being what it is, I think most people would say yellow. The one cool/stupid thing about yellow, depending on your perspective, is that pikachu actually follows you around on screen. It’s sort of like Tails in the original Sonic & Tails except you can’t lose him. He stays one

I can’t seem to find the article right now, but as I remember it, Amazon claimed that their newest font would actually improve battery life on e-ink screens by a not insignificant amount. I guess it has something to do with the amount of change required between each page (I’ll admit to having skimmed the article more

That’s an interesting question. I’m going to give a qualified “yes.”

Excellent list. I can’t tell you how many roommates have had a problem with my perfectly reasonable habit of starting and ending each day with a few brackets on the great highland bagpipes. Who doesn’t want the sun to set to Scotland the Brave?

Disabling haptic feedback can’t hurt either. A vibration on every input is sort of rough on the battery.

Don’t anyone tell amazon, but these are extremely hackable too. GREAT fun if you’re in the mood to do some do it yourself household automation.

I’ve tried this and a few other things like it, the most drastic being the six day week, and I’ve found the biggest impairment is being essentially self ostracized from the rest of the world.

Yup, With ingress, every microbrewery in town is a portal as well. They just want easy to reach locations, they don’t care what kind of significance we feel the need to pretend is there.

They did the exact same thing with Ingress. It’s just an easily mapped location that (in theory) most people will have unfettered access to. With ingress they started with post offices and libraries for the exact same reason. It was easy to make sure that every local had at least one portal more or less nearby, and

So, I’m going to be that jerk real quick, then apologize for doing it.

The podcast/article needs to be called “building a pc aint that hard . . 99.9% of the time.” Then suddenly there is some strange intermittent issue that you can’t replicate reliably that could be hardware or software related or even freaking sunspots and now you don’t even get the satisfaction of yelling at the tech

Just thought I’d point out that when you fry something as big as a turkey, the oil doesn’t actually saturate the bird. With the exception of the millimeter or two actually touching the oil, a fried and a baked bird are identical from a “health” perspective, at least in that one doesn’t have a ton of excess fat as

I imagine if you are a big Xbox gamer, you probably know, but they are having their “summer sale” or whatever they are calling it over at microsoft right now.

I’m kind of surprised how in the minority I seem to be, but I can’t stand registries. I feel as though it undermines the . . . .authenticity, for lack of a better word, of the whole gift giving act. It’s the spiritual opposite of “it’s the thought that counts.”

As someone who doesn’t want, or even like kids, I just wish parents would remember that they signed up for the job. So many parents I know spin it as though the world has done something awful to them when the rest of us don’t instantly rush to their aid to assist them in raising their kids.

The heating/freezing idea is very interesting, and something I’ll definitely end up trying as the need arises, but I thought I’d point out that heating the female end of a friction fit will not make the opening larger, it will make it smaller.

It’s weird. When I read the comments, the people who automatically dismiss her and the people who automatically believe her both give me the same creepy feeling.

I’ve used the free version of Bitdefender and have, at times, wondered if it was somehow disabled because of how unobtrusive it is. I’ve switched to 99% linux as of late though, so I haven’t checked to see if they do a free version for windows 10 yet.

An excellent safety lesson. After a high speed crash, you should always make sure you give a rider’s neck a good test by yanking on the front of their helmet. Be sure to use a twisting jerking motion for best results.

You might try “Rite in the Rain.” They were what was required for one of my ecological sciences classes in college and I’ve been using them ever since. They work with all the pens I’ve tried as of yet.
