Just remember, folks:

Police Officer puts a father to shame in front of his daughter, forces the father to drive to WalMart to support big corporations.

“is no longer a large-bandwidth conduit for money to flow to defense contractors”

Not contradicting any of these other guys, but. What you said.

I think the real problem with the A-10 is that the fleet is paid for, and therefore is no longer a large-bandwidth conduit for money to flow to defense contractors. No more A-10s means more F-35s which means more more MORE money for...Lockheed!

Oh, I didn’t do it to annoy those companies sending the spam. I did it to help the Postal Service out a little. I read somewhere back in the day about a guy who would take their return envelops and tape it to a brick to jack up the weight/price. Never did go that far myself.

I stumbled onto the fact that yes, Priority mail boxes of all sizes (up to 5 each) will be delivered straight to your door for free. I actually got double shipped and received 10 of each. That was great and disconcerting all at the same time.

I welcome junk mail, if only to keep USPS in service. I open up their letters, stuff everything into the return envelop and send it back on its way.

And not only that, but you can order a lot of their boxes and envelopes for free! And schedule someone to come pick it up—for free! Not to sound like a USPS commercial here, but I agree that they’re an underappreciated service. I groan about postage increases too, though, because I’m a hyprocrite.

I agree. The USPS is one of the greatest things in our government, IMO.

Yes, I understand your point, but your argument is laissez-faire capitalism-centric and I’m a democratic socialist. (Small case ‘cos I’m not American and please don’t assume I’m a Bernie Sanders groupie.)

Firstly, apologies for the delay replying. I’ve been travelling.

Are you saying a person needs to somehow earn the right to buy a car? It’s their money, they can do what they want with it.

Not really. When looked at from a cost per BTU, resistance heating (electric furnace, electric water heater) is almost always going to be more expensive than the cost to do the same job with natural gas. With electric, all the losses were realized back at the power plant. Then they charge you for the delivery and

Cool? Not really. It’s still a negative on the net result for humanity - the vastly-preferable situation is for nobody to nuke anybody.

They are fucked, if they ever launch one of these.

Whose parents would let them live at home for free for “three or four years” after college? Is this an actual thing that a lot of people do?? I moved back in with my parents for 4 months after college and paid rent like a roommate for all 4. We have a great relationship, and they are well-off financially/own their

beermerr that statement is dangerously stupid. 401Ks are have proven to be one of the best devices for retirement savings. Discouraging people to use them, when we already have a savings problem, is extremely reckless.

First, we do not generally have antibiotics in soaps, we have antibacterial agents or chemicals. The difference being that you can ingest/inject antibiotics into your body, while any number of antibacterial agents (like Triclosan) would harm you if you did the same.

In all seriousness (...well..), I grew up a Navy brat, and actually spent a couple years living on a Marine base. Here’s how it was always explained to me:

You pay $600/year for this “worry free” plan? Wow! For that amount, you could just replace one of your appliances every year or two!
