I wish they had just taken the general setting of Ghost In The Shell and just transferred it to America and named her Major Mary Kimble, or something like that. Scarlett Johansson is a good choice to play that style character, given that she’s good at being vaguely unsettling, but there’s nothing really about that

“Fuck. So close.”

Doesn’t it? There’s more to life than physical appearance, and Tyrion is by far one of the most influential and powerful people in the books. Most importantly, Tyrion knows his limits unlike some of the others.

An idealized version of oneself doesn’t have to be absolutely perfect in every way. Idealized doesn’t mean “perfect.” It just means the best you can do with what you were given.

For a conventionally not-attractive man, an idealized version of oneself might be someone whose abilities supersede being horribly unattractive. The "I'm so awesome that it doesn't matter if I am ugly" may contain a strong feeling of righteousness for nerds, to include people realizing the value in you (the character)

Not really, depending on what you value as a character trait. If you think intelligence is more valuable than physical attractiveness, then that makes sense to be the trait you idealize.

Martin is a very big man who likely wishes he was smaller. Tyrion is the extreme of that. :)

Need more Strong Belwas asap.

You ever get the feeling these women want a return to the 1950s? Like, in some twisted way they think they won’t have to work, cam be SAHMs guilt-free, and letting a man be the head of the household a la Betty Draper is appealing to them?

He’s the bullhorn to their dog whistle.

Trump says that women need to be punished for holding pens.

Exactly. Well put. They don’t dislike him because of what he thinks, they hate that he verbalizes is so clearly.

First off - the fact that this man has no empathy and is clearly a narcissist is one thing. But can we please acknowledge that he can not even speak about “women” or “women’s issues” without talking as if he’s speaking to men about them? By that, I mean he will keep saying “I’m gonna be so good for women. Women love

So who wants to talk about whether or not Robert Wagner had something to do with Natalie Wood’s death?

Once I hit 30, I quit keeping track. Not on purpose, or anything, it just seemed not to matter much anymore. Now I have to do the math from my birth year any time I’m called upon to state my age. And I often do it wrong. lol.

Huh. I read it completely differently. I read it as don’t let someone bully you into doing something you aren’t sure about. If you want to say no to the D, then for gosh sakes, say no.

If you’re stupid enough to ask such a dumb question, the answer for you is no, because you’ve demonstrated that you have the social IQ of a grapefruit and would be incapable of doing it respectfully. Men who think “don’t ask your coworkers out” is a reasonable guideline for the sake of making women feel safe at work

Kelly is very open and frank, as well as self-deprecating. I read to say that NO ONE, not even her, thinks of her in a sexy way. I don’t hear her blaming Kesha for anything.

Predators are very socially aware people. I think want Kelly is trying to say is that she had a lot of power in a way, so people couldn’t mess with her. Kesha came up a completely different way, in a way that Dr. Luke probably exploited.
