Lol yep. I got one yesterday but the first thing I did was look on Reddit to see if other people got similar emails.
I spent an hour stressing about this last night. Glad I’m not the only one!
It’s okay. The show is PRETEND. No Jawas were harmed in the making of this episode. Because Jawas aren’t real.
Pro tip: The Mandalorian is also a bad guy, just like Boba Fett was. It’s a series with a bad guy as the protagonist. Whether and how he becomes a hero is probably part of his character arc, but it seems pretty well established that he’s not a hero yet. It’s The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly in space, not Firefly. If you…
Or maybe they simply know the risks of stripping someone else’s ship for parts without permission. It’s not like after the first kill they were like “oh, sorry for stealing your stuff, here you go”,no, they were fleeing like the thiefs they are
Well, this might help: he’s a protagonist, not a hero.
It’s a story involving a bounty hunter. Bounty hunters capture or kill people, no questions asked, for money. What did you expect?
In the old west, stealing a man’s horse was the same as sentencing him to die. In the star wars ‘verse, stealing a man’s ship and leaving him stranded in a desert filled with carnivorous monsters was the same. Those jawas were punks.
I would think the moral of that story is, don’t attack Madalorian bounty hunters, shit’s bad for your health. As for the beast? It was an attacking creature, driven by instinct, words and reasoning certainly won’t stop it.
io9 got fucked hard by the addition of the Onion and thereby AV club to the GMG family. I love the AV club, but man its clear that upper management did not feel like io9 needed to exist separately. It was probably an early warning of things to come.
My issue is more than it became “pure sci fi”, rather than the awesome mix of fiction and actual science and anthropology it started off as. I think some of that was unavoidably lost when it joined Gawker but the merge with Gizmodo always felt like a bad step
I’m happy that Charlie Jane’s novel career is taking off, but her reviews were always my favorite part of io9.
OK Boomer
That + 69 made me lol. Because I’m actually 12.
I don’t think anyone is going to fight that...
TESLA RUSH. TESLA RUSH.
I’m not going to fight truth
This is the correct take. RA was what got me into the genre before I fell in love with Total Annihilation. It was great fun playing over dialup with neighbors across the street.
