I really think this reviewer just doesn't get neo-noir, and wants a kind of foolish consistency that this genre has just never been interested in providing.

I have a degree of sympathy, but if your viewing experience is jarred so bad by basically being told "something interesting is going to happen in a later episode," maybe your threshold for spoilers is just a *tad* too low?

You know, I think it just might haveve gotten better reviews from the "media" if it were a better made, written, acted, shot, edited, and promoted film. But you know, if we put the word "liberal" in front of media and cross our fingers, maybe people will forget about all those things and believe you when you reduce it…
