"We can see this phenomenon all the time in nature. Turtles, for instance, swim past lots of perfectly good beaches just so they can reproduce on the particular beach they were born on. This may seem inefficient, even stupid, but it's just a very basic way of hedging their bets and ensuring survival, as Dr. Dall

For $10,000, I can put solar panels on my roof and a rainwater collection cistern, removing myself completely from the local (read:crappy and unreliable) utility grid. Plus have enough room left over to have the BBQ-worthy rooftop lawn/garden I've always wanted.

LOL!! I hope nobody takes me too seriously up there.

Absolutely no way in hell!

Womens bathing/grooming tips?

video fail... =(

Simmer down now, my friend... I wasn't implying we never made it. Just putting it up for the humor of it, that's all. I love that photo, it makes me laugh. I still wish I had it in full background resolution.

I see there's another one below in a previous comment. So here's another one.

@Ceropegius: On your suggestion I checked fourmilab too, (I forgot about that site, awesome, thx for reminding me!) but got a different result than you. For the date, time, and location, it shows that Jupiter had already set, but that Venus is visible near the moon and Saturn is also in the sky. Are you using Jan 28

@Ceropegius: Great observation, except for one tiny flaw. Jupiter isn't in the nighttime sky there right now. Venus, possibly, especially for it's apparent proximity to the moon. And we could see the moon in the vid.

Tsk... Tsk... All this chatter over real or fake and not a single 'welcome' in the bunch!

@Sunwind: I agree - we should make one!

Now playing

That's cool, but if we had a choice, I'd rather see this!

@rob_p: Even sadder part is that, presuming the off-screen voice was actually the cameraman, he probably got reprimanded by the execs for his outburst of intelligence. Something to the tune of: "we don't pay you to interrupt a live broadcast and show off how smart you are - we pay you to keep the camera pointed at the
