We were cruising through Montana with a dwindling fuel tank. Dad driving, me shotgun, mom and two younger brothers in the back of the van. We see a gas at next exit sign and talk about stopping. As we approach the exit dad and I can see no signs of a station and assume it must be 10 miles up the road in some small

Great. Sounds like someone finally invented a way to extract hydrogen from water without expending more energy than you get. If you haven’t, I’m right. You’d still need to find a way to distribute, store, and refuel efficiently, but I think you got this one.

I think I just solved all of VWs problems. They should buy a Chinese auto company so they can reorganize as a Chinese company. It would allow them to avoid quite a few taxes AND China, as a country, doesn’t give a damn about eco-idiocy.

I see your point, but I don’t think it is the same situation. There was a real light at the end of the tunnel in that situation. The prospect of more precise fuel management meant it was a when not if question. There is absolutely no way to “make” hydrogen economically right now and no prospect of it becoming possible

Is it possible that car companies are taking government funds for hydrogen cars and developing enough tech and a few cars to please the government (not known for their over sight of waste) and pocketing most of the money to use for practical purposes?

Not a bad looking car concept and probably really cool tech. Hydrogen fuel cells are pretty amazing. I’m not sure why anyone is wasting time on it right now because there is no way to produce hydrogen in anything close to an economical way. It is a complete and total waste.

I know. It’s why the videos of a one race to 60 comparison with exotic cars are annoying. They take the stregth of the electric motor and maximize it. If the Tesla deciples are going to gloat over those videos I think they should endure a 1979 Grand Marquis with a 460-V8 beating it in a race that exposes the

I totally agree with you. The gas powered cars are just better. About twice as good as the times indicate...without a price adjustment.

A Telsa with auto pilot would lose a race to any working ice engine car driven by people in a cross country race. It doesn’t mean the Tesla isn’t a good car. It just isn’t the car’s strength. And it’s weakness makes it unable to do what very simple ICE cars can do easily. This is just a fact.

First I want to say I am NOT a Tesla hater.

I approve of number 1. Gorgeous and rare car.

I have not found a place to change the senser to intermittent. There is an adjuster for the sensitivity but it doesn’t help much if any.

RE: Your autonomous car crack. I drove to work today in the rain. Rain sense wipers ALWAYS suck. I am a little skeptical someone can make a car drive itself when they can’t make automatic wipers that don’t suck. It may happen, but I’m not as sure as most people seem to be.

YES. Gas engine and three pedals.

If I got one..

...to the environment.

Unfortunately it’s “not cool anymore” for the wrong reasons.

I’ve said many times before that it is amazing the thing competes at all. When you think of the dozens of companies for more than a hundred years that have spent billions of dollars and millions of man hours to developing the piston engine it is really crazy how good the rotary is with its paltry development budget

Thanks for the defense, but try to be civil. It doesn’t hurt me or the rotary that someone else is spiteful.

It was tongue in cheek. I never said all engines should be rotaries. The rotary is fun and interesting and the planet will be just fine if Mazda makes another one. Feel free to not buy one.
