If you want the benefit's of the Insight with the plug in powertrain of the Volt, Honda makes this car called the Clarity. Bit hard to find in some parts of the country, but worth a look!

Get a newer Insight. Comparably handsome to the Volt, but newer, better gas mileage, and better reliability than a GM product. Especially one that is getting on in age. You can get 2019s for $20k now especially since they were right at or under $30k new.
I really thought about a Bolt for my commute, especially because EVs get HOV access here. The terrible interior, especially the seats, would keep me from pulling the trigger.
How about a Chevy Bolt? No more buying gas for the commute or worrying about much in the way of maintenance. With the deep discounts, they can be had for just a smidge above the budget, which OP should make up for on the back end with fuel savings.
A TDI Jetta Sportwagen is a great choice! But Smarts and VWs would be as obvious choices for me as Jeeps would be for David Tracy, so I’m trying to branch out. lol
It’s Bolt time.
With a 120 mile daily commute, you know what would be fun to drive? A vehicle you don’t have to stop to fuel up three times a week. Here’s a 2017 Chevy Volt with 27000 miles for $15k.

Good to know! I’ll definitely keep an eye out next time I pass one.
I say this as a dyed-in-the-wool environmentalist: at some point, we need to get people who don’t give a shit about the environment to also buy EVs. We need to get everyone (or at least most people) driving vehicles that aren’t powered by fossil fuels if we are to have a hope of preserving at least some of the Earth’s…

Hey guys,
“What’s Something In Your Garage That Might Be A Relationship Red Flag?”
Thar it is.
It was such a handsome vehicle. So much so, that I bought a 2004 for myself; I loved the mild clear-lens taillamp redesign, and swapped for the EU headlamp switch so I could use the rear fog lamps (on BOTH sides, as the silly kid I was). It has an understated handsomeness, the interior quality was good, even the BASE…
If 1 in 4 cars are old enough to drive themselves then why aren’t there more autonomous cars?

My wife rarely ever asks about new cars. This morning, she saw the Bronco trending on Twitter, and asked how much they cost.
