2 is perfect: a good daily and a vintage, I would usually recommend an outlaw 911 or hopped up e30, but my current recommendation is 190E 2.3-16v. They are easy to modify and nearly as good as an e30. Plus you can still find a good one for 10k.

I saw one of these in a vintage racer trim at Toyota MegaWeb in Tokyo over the summer. Really a cool little car. All of the Toyota rally cars were my favorite, though. The MR2-based Group S mule was jaw dropping.
